I saw this movie last night and I was impressed.

The Dark is about a divorced couple played by Maria Bello as Adèle
(Coyote Ugly, striking resemblance to Naomi Watts),
and Sean Bean as James (The Lord of the Rings, Troy, Goldeneye),
who struggle to give their daughter the love of two parents, when she is lost at sea.

Even though it carried many similar elements from not only Hideo Nakata's Ringu
and Gore Verbinski's The Ring, it collaborated these atmospheres
unlike with obvious elements from The Monkeys Paw in a perfect manner
that keeps you watching right up until the end.

The movie had perfect pacing, supporting cast who stayed out of the way,
enjoyable soundtrack and nice directing all the way around.

The Dark, finally makes me cringe like a horror movie is
supposed to with an ending that is very memorable.

Manipulating emotion masterfully, and it's a Canadian film so
I'm really hoping this gets the distribution it deserves.

Definitely see this film.
