The Forgotten, is a film that to me brings to mind the book, Communion by Whitley Streiber. A invasive exercise, forced upon the undisciplined minds of the innocent, who have neither the ability to fight, or the understanding to resist it's sheer depth. Every scene, was a riveting, development to the story. And that's exactly what this movie was - a story. But, a story driven, by several core beliefs. The understanding of "invisible" connections we have with people, every powerful, psychic, connections strengthened by love, and our beliefs. This power is very real, and can be tested through many vehicles, for example , remote viewing, meditation, Reiki, healing, massage, non verbal communication, etc... I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, as I was drawn deeper into the plot, I never felt cheated, or bored. The intense scenes got me, and got me good. The acting was on par, and very commendable, as well as palpable. This is a movie that can open many doors, to great books, and further queries by the self to ask questions, to do our own experiments if you will. To understand how we ourselves tick. This movie, possibly one of the best of 2004, some people found alot of flaws, but pointing fingers at a story, like there wasn't character development, or she didnt question it so her role seemed 1-dimensional, or the father forgot so the movie is portryaing fathers in a bad light - these are ridiculous arguments that are totally missing the point. The experiment was concerning the hyopthesis that of a mother's connection to her child, and could that connection be dissolved. This movie works on so many levels. And I suggest highly reading Whitley Streiber, and Michael Monroe's Journeys out of the Body, to name two books which now seem to be on the tip of my iceberg. Overall I highly enjoyed this film, and am glad I saw it
