Summary:
We can judge the heart of man by his treatment of animals ." Immanuel Kant (1724-1804) |
The bridge created between mankind and other forms of life
creates the opportunity for mankind to gain new perspective,
the vantage all great men hold on all living things.
The first movie Free Willy tackled the effect of humans on Orcas on a microcosmic scale,
while Free Willy tackles it on a larger scale. A global message is heard in the sequel,
about our personal responsibility on planet Mother Earth.
Also I love Elizabeth Pena, and it's great to see the rest of the cast come back as well.
Another thing I really love about the sequel, is that in the first movie,
Randolph and Jesse save Willy together, but in this movie,
Jesse and his family help Willy to save himself and his family.
In every way, the movie takes the story to the next level, which is a great way to take a series.
Keiko, the killer whale used in the film, died on Friday 12 December 2003
after the sudden onset of pneumonia in the Taknes fjord in Norway. The whale was 27 years old. R.I.P. Willy
