Direct to Video, should be Direct to Dumpster

Hollowman II takes the plot in a sort of sideways
direction, into rather mediocre terrain of government assassins,
coverups, and corruption. When a police officer off a beat investigating
a murder gets drawn into the web and must protect one of th
ekey scientists developing a buffer, or stabilizer serum for
the out of control invisibility drug, before it drives the out
of control Michael Griffin completely over the edge of madness.
Hollowman II has decent pacing, aesthetically
it works, and fairly nicely directed.
Not sure why people are so hard on the film.
I remember Laura Regan from an episode of Ghost
Whisperer -- she did very well in that role as well.
Christian Slater has very little input into this
movie, but that's for the best.
H is character is supposed to be understated and to that end
it was well achieved.
Movies are made direct to video because they lack
the funding for a screenwide release and they dont expect it
to return that type of investment.
The effects in this movie were horrendous, when
the lead is being pulled backward near the end she looks like
a fraggle on strings, I would have laughed if I weren't cringing.
Slater never should have been given top billing
since he's barely in it, and that is misleading, but beyond
that the movie is okay if you're working on something else and
just have it going in the background.
Just don't pay too close attention and you can
survive the experience puke free!
