Summary: You liked it for all the wrong reasons, i mean i bet you didnt even write a review soley inspired by the tiny tree frog on Eric Bana's hat in the final scene of the film!

I think this film writer for Time Out Review nailed it with his review
that follows:

"The Hulk is the story of Bruce Banner, a brilliant scientist and Bruce
is experimenting with gamma radiation. He subjects himself to his own
tests, something goes wildly wrong, and he becomes The Hulk.

Edward Norton is the "good" Bruce Banner. He's a wiry, curious,
scientist; you believe him when he speaks this sort of scientific
*beep* that these movies always have. And the same can go for Liv
Tyler. She plays Betty Ross; Bruce's girlfriend.

The military which is led by William Hurt, who wants The Hulk as a
weapon. Tim Roth is some kind of military bad ass, and he antagonizes
The Hulk in an early scene and suffers great injury. As a result he is
treated by the same gamma radiation as The Hulk and suddenly becomes
The Abomination. An apparently equally powerful monster. Essentially
you have this Abomination, you have The Hulk, the two of them clash in
a big CGI smack down, and you don't really care. You don't really
wonder why is The Hulk doing this? Why is he angry? Ultimately, there's
very little rationale, and very little emotional depth.

Don't expect real reasons why gamma radiation turns you large and
green. This film feels very synthetic and empty, and hollow. It's a
popcorn movie. It's a big dumb summer ride. And sad as it is to say, I
can't wholeheartedly recommend it."

I agree with Josh, and for these failings in Hulk 2008, I find solace
in Hulk 2003 which excelled in all these areas.
