We live, we die
& death not ends it
|

What would you do if you were given a second chance? A business
executive with his girlfriend in London experiences a horrible
day
where everything goes wrong and she ends up dying in a terrible
car
accident. When he wakes up the next morning and it's the morning
before, he sets out to set everything right.
A heartfelt film about appreciating what you have in front
of you
because before you know it, it's all gone. Life is so fleeting,
like
watching birds fly across the bruised black and white and blue
canvas
of a sky pregnant with rain. And like the rain, If Only is the
first
movie in 3 years that made me cry.
This movie holds a special place in my heart because I lived
something
so similar to the plot line of this tale in so many details
I cannot
even begin to express.
I don't spend time ripping apart the characters, or inherrent
ludicrious dialog
or stupidity or out of place diva number at the end, instead
I focus on the message, and
the underlying theme. Anyone can nitpick just about any movie
and find a flaw,
but that's missing the forest for the trees and does yourself
and the story an injustice.
If Only is more than that. Yes the characters were not written
very well,
so what, the movie made up for it with true heart and an amazing
culmination of meaning in the end.
A very different kind of happy ending. An inspiring movie about
giving
someone the greatest gift of all: time and your love.
The ending is realistic, logical, and hauntingly beautiful.
He sacrificed himself so that she might live,
and this movie wasn't going to end like so many others tied
up in a pretty bow,
but in a manner that lingers, like the sunset we see the breauty
and end of the day,
poetic, and hopeful, sad and beautiful.
And that was important for the integrity of the story. Afterall,
even in life,
we learn by loss, and he got the chance not only to save her,
but
to tell her how he felt deep down inside. In the end what we
will take with us our memories
of those we loved, and
whom loved us, and the desire to tell them that we do still
love them, and that love never dies.
Jennifer Love Hewitt is amazing and I wish others who so quickly
judge
her could see how talented she is. Her show in 2006, Ghost Whisperer
is
a beautifully touching show, and I cannot wait for season two.

"They say there's always someone in a relationship
who loves more
Oh God I wish it wasn't me."
